Presidential Heritage Safari - Kenya

Kogelo Safari Itinerary

Day 01: Nairobi – Kogelo
You will depart early morning at 7am for Kogelo via Nakuru town. Lunch is served in Nakuru and proceed later to Kogelo, President Obama’ original homeland. Enjoy the  fauna and flora enroute and the Great Rift Valley. You will arrive in good time for  a visit to the Obama’s home. Depart later for dinner and overnight at a Hotel in Siaya town


Day 02: Kogelo – Kisumu – Kisii
Enjoy a morning drive in the Western circuit enjoying the Lake Victoria, the second  largest Lake in Africa and depart for Kisii via Kisumu. Lunch is served and later you will be visiting the open market where soapstone carvings are done by our local Kisii tribe. Bananas, maize and other cash crops are grown in this area. The afternoon is spent at your own leisure at the Market, having one on one talks with the local artists. You will proceed to Hotel Mwalimu where you are booked on dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Kisii – Masai Mara
Leave after breakfast for Masai Mara to arrive for lunch. Enjoy a hot bath and drive later for an afternoon game viewing in Masai plains in search of various wildlife. Return for dinner and overnight at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 04: Masai Mara
Early breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Masai Mara is famous for its black maned lions, elephants and buffalo that make three out of the ‘big five’ though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely leopards and rhinos.  The park’s animal concentration and abundance is second to none. You'll have a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, and Masai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture. Rest of meals and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 05: Masai Mara - Nairobi
After breakfast and your last game drive, depart the Mara region for Nairobi to arrive at noon.
